Musings on cats, travel, gardens and life
We had a reprieve from the rain yesterday so we went south to the Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium in Tacoma. The Jellies were my favorites. Especially the Sea Nettles. Mesmerizing, don’t you think? I could watch them all day. ~ Susanne
Rain, rain, and more rain in the Pacific Northwest. Dismal. Dreary. Dampening. Disappointing. Even so, the berries offer the occasional bright spot, lighting up the yard. I shouldn’t complain. We’ve fared much better than the rest of the country, which has been hard hit… Continue Reading “Red Berries on a Rainy Day”
Even though spring is officially here in the Pacific Northwest, the temperatures have remained icy cold, with bouts of wind, rain and hail. On our trip to the Skagit Valley last week, in addition to the thousands of swans and snow geese, we saw dozens of bald eagles – in the farmlands, in the trees and in the skies. They come from northern Canada and Alaska to… Continue Reading “Back with the Eagles of the Skagit Valley”
Have you ever visited the Skagit Valley during the winter to see the snowbirds? We did last week and discovered thousands of swans (trumpeter and tundra though I’m hard pressed to tell the difference) and snow geese, much easier to identify with the black… Continue Reading “Thousands of Snow Birds in the Skagit Valley!”
