Musings on cats, travel, gardens and life
On my weekend walk at Coulon Park I found the stony walkers all dressed up for Labor Day in honor of our essential workers.
Here’s what they wore on Memorial Day in case you wondered.
The maple trees have also started changing into their fall dress – much earlier than usual – no doubt due to our extreme summer weather.
This is just a foretaste.
It won’t be long until all the green is replaced with dreamy colors of orange and peach and lemon and lime.
I hope to show you their complete transformation in a few weeks.
Happy Labor Day!

Those maple trees are incredible! And I think it’s cool how they dress up the statues!
Yes, I love seeing the walkers dress up for the holidays. And those Maples are famous for the show they put on in the fall. And this is just the beginning!
Beautiful trees, nice statues. ❤️
Yes, indeed! I enjoy both at Coulon Park. Thanks!
I love that! Happy Labor Day, glad they are staying safe and masked!
Thanks John! Yes indeed, still dressing up and masking at Coulon! 🙂
Love those statues! Spectacular changes in the trees, there. Sometimes it’s as late as November before we have full fall, but I can see a few changes beginning, even here.
Thanks so much! I love the statues too, especially when they’re dressed up for the holidays. I love how the trees change into beautiful shades of orange at Coulon every year. This year seems early but we had record breaking temps this summer – over 110 degrees – and it seems to have jump started them! I’ll go back in a couple of weeks and expect the green to be gone. 🙂
That’s so clever, to dress the statues like that. Do they do it every year or is this done specially for Covid, to honour the workers?
Love the colours in the trees too, and looking forward to seeing them in their full glory!
They dress the statues for all the major holidays, even before covid.
The trees will be glorious in a few weeks, my favorite place to see the fall colors.
Stunning pictures! Love those dressed up walkers, how cool is that?
Thanks so much!
