Musings on cats, travel, gardens and life
Sometimes I miss Tiger.
He was a gentle cat who used to wander quietly about the yard, stopping to drink from the birdbath,

smell the flowers,

and have a bite to eat.

Perhaps because I’d been preparing this post, he made an appearance in my dream last night (though it may have been the melatonin.)
For some reason I couldn’t remember, I hadn’t petted him lately. I apologized for ignoring him.
He forgave me.

It had been difficult the few months before he passed over the Rainbow Bridge. It was messy. He was no longer himself, crying – no, howling – in the night and ready to go.
I was reminded not to remember the ending, but to remember the whole story, of this sweet boy, who did the best he could.
(A metaphor perhaps, the way with people too.)

Sweet dreams, Tiger. You were a good and fine cat.

Beautiful photos, and memories, of a beautiful sweet cat. No wonder you miss him. But you’re right to dwell on the full story of his life with you, not just the ending.
Thanks, Sarah. It was interesting to have him show up in my dream last night, and it reminded me what a sweet cat he really was!

The most difficult part of have an animal as part of the family…thanks for sharing the moments that stay with you
So true, John. Thank you for your comment.
That first picture4 seems to symbolize all you say about him. Good to have good memories.
Thank you so much. That’s my favorite picture of him.
Itβs so hard to lose our furry friends.
Yes indeed. πΏ
I’m sure that you do miss him, and will continue to do so, Susanne. He was a most excellent cat, and a great companion too. Many fond memories for you, and they are worth the sharp pain of that last few.
Best wishes, Pete.
Thanks, Pete. He was indeed a good cat, even though his last few months were challenging. I miss his wandering in the garden.
