Reflections on Washington State

This week’s Sunday Stills challenge got me reflecting on my beautiful home state of Washington. So, I went to my archives for some of my favorite places on the Olympic Peninsula.

To Hood Canal

and Pleasant Harbor, a place chalked full of childhood memories.

And Lake Crescent in Olympic National Park, perhaps my favorite lake in the world,

unless you count Lake Quinault, which is tied for first.

I found more reflections in the Quinault Rain Forest on the Maple Glade Trail, one of my favorites.

Leaving the Olympic Peninsula for a different vibe let’s head to Wenatchee for reflections at Ohme Gardens,

and the Columbia River

where I came across a Great Blue Heron in the marsh, while riding my bike on the Apple Capital Loop trail. He stood still as long as I did, and I entered into a certain serenity watching him. Nature does that.

And for my final reflections, I’ll close with the mountain in my backyard, Mt. Rainier, seen at Reflection Lakes, one of the best drive-up views in the park.
