Stalking the Hummingbirds

Yes, I admit it. I’m a stalker of birds.

It had been a while, so I went into the shed and hid, leaving the door open a crack, hoping a hummingbird might land on the feeders nearby.

Within minutes a handsome male Anna’s hummingbird showed up, and I had my camera at the ready.

It was my lucky day.

  1. Ah! What a great idea! I’ll have to try hiding some time and see if I can get some good shots. You captured some awesome photos!

  2. My garden feeds the local hummingbirds. They are very curious about me when I’m working outside, either that or territorial, as they have been known to buzz me.

    • Yes, mine are year round residents and they feed both naturally and using my feeders. They are definitely inquisitive and occasionally buzz me too!

  3. Great shots, Susanne! You have the perfect blind to make photos from. I remember when I was young, my Daddy made me a blind out of a frame and cloth, and it was collapsible. It was just big enough for me. I got some fantastic shots from it, but it turned out to be like a sauna in the hot, humid North Carolina heat of summer. I still used it quite often, nonetheless.
