Musings on cats, travel, gardens and life
“Listen to the trees talking in their sleep,’ she whispered, as he lifted her to the ground. ‘What nice dreams they must have!”
_ L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables
I don’t doubt that trees dream at night, but I like to catch them before they go to sleep, during the golden hour.
“For in the true nature of things, if we rightly consider, every green tree is far more glorious than if it were made of gold and silver.”
Martin Luther
This little tree lives in the park at the end of my street, perhaps ordinary by day,
it’s positively glorious by night.

Gorgeous shots…trees provide us with so much and are taken for granted by so many! Thanks for this golden tribute!
Thanks so much for your comment! I really appreciate it! 🙂 🙂
Beautiful photos! Is the top one an Arbutus?
Thanks so much for your comment! Yes, the first one is an Arbutus, I usually call it by its common name here, Madrona.
They have the most amazing trunks!
Yes, I love them!! Such interesting form and gorgeous peeling bark. And critters love them too! 🙂
Beautiful photos and quotes! ❤️
Thank you so much! 😊
You sure can make trees look amazing, Susanne! So glad you could be doubly inspired. Those quotes are absolutely perfect, too!
Thanks so much Terri! I followed your suggestion and was inspired to put Tree Squares and Quotes together!! 🙂
Hooray!
Susanne, those are amazing trees, especially in low light with a beautiful sunset peeking through the branches. Thanks for joining in with #WQWWC. Isn’t it cool to be able to address two or more challenges with one post? You’ve put them together so well. 🙂
Thanks so much Marsha. 😊 I’m not accustomed to using quotes so it was fun to look for those I wanted to use with my pictures. And I love trees so it was a perfect match with Becky’s Squares!
It really was! 🙂
Wonderful!
Thank you! 🙂 🙂

wow! There are truly golden – gorgeous #TreeSquare captures
Thank you so much! 😍
I can see the last two making awesome jigsaw puzzles! 😀
Maybe so! But I could never put them together! 😁
I couldn’t either with a cat in the house!😂
Lovely shots, and a great idea. Trees may not dream, but I can hear our very old Oak ‘talking’ to me at night as I lie in bed.
Best wishes, Pete.
Thanks so much Pete. They talk to me too! 😊
Lovely golden hour photos 🙂 I love how the changing skies transform your ‘ordinary’ tree!
Thanks so much! That little tree really does shine around sunset!
