I am glad they didn’t run all over the place as dogs often do.
Happy birthday, America! We had a loud 3rd-4th- and probably 5th with custom (likely illegal) fireworks 200 yards away from our house! Good and bad since we had a wildfire scare Saturday. I continue my love/hate relationship with illegal and “safe and sane” fireworks having dealt with the noise for years in Sacramento. Booms til 1am! I keep sedation drugs for my dogs for these occasions. 😦 Your pics capture the beauty of the fireworks, Susanne!
I know what you mean. I hadn’t been to any fireworks displays in years save what I saw over Disneyland in S. Cal. But this year we went to a big family picnic on the 3rd out in the country and there was a nice display over the river. Last night was really noisy in our neighborhood into the wee hours of the night despite the fact they’re illegal in our town. We kept the cats in close by and we all survived! 🙂
Thanks so much! We rarely see fireworks but these were at a family event over a river and were beautiful. I took the pictures with my phone and they turned out pretty good! 😊

Hope you had a nice celebration, Susanne.
Best wishes, Pete.
Thanks Pete. We don’t usually make a fuss on the 4th, but this year we enjoyed a very traditional picnic with family and friends. 🙂
Happy 4th to you too, from the ‘other side of the pond’ 🎇
Thanks so much! 🙂
How do your cats do with the noise?
I kept them in all afternoon and evening reassuring them so they did okay.. But there was a lot of loud noise all night long.
I am glad they didn’t run all over the place as dogs often do.

Nice photos!
Thanks so much! Not bad considering I used my phone! 🙂
Darn good, phone photography is really good today but has a way to go to catch up with Nikon, Canon and such.
Yes, I love my Sony but my phone works good in a pinch!
Beautiful pictures! It’s always past my bedtime when fireworks go off.
