Musings on cats, travel, gardens and life
Remember the sunflowers I found last week in Sequim?
Well the reason we made the three hour drive was to look at an E Bike.
‘What’s an E bike?’ I hear you ask. Exactly what I said.
It’s a bike with a battery that gives you a burst of power whenever you want it – perhaps as you are pedaling up a hill or maybe just for the fun of it!Β Bob thought we’d ride our bikes more if they gave us more oompf than depended on us.
‘Sure,’ I said. (Well, not exactly.Β It was more like – do we really need them? – they’re so expensive – well, okay if we get used ones.)
So he found one for sale at a good price in Sequim and off we went to see it.
We arrived at the seller’s home and the bike was as advertised. But I was more interested in the cries of two eagles sitting high above us.
So while Bob took the bike for a ride I watched the eagles as they chatted up a storm.
‘Let me see your profiles,’ I said, and they did.
When Bob returned from his test drive he said the bike was more my size so why didn’t I take it for a spin.
I did.
It was a good day.
With sunflowers.
And eagles.
And a new E bike.

How fun is that! If it works out well let us know! Maybe I should get one π€ if it would make me exercise moreπ¬
It was really fun when I test drove it. I think it will expand the places we can go. π
Electric bikes are very popular around here with ‘older’ people.
They take the strain out of daily cycling.
Worth it for the eagles, anyway. π
Best wishes, Pete.
It was a fun day and I loved seeing the eagles! And I think we’ll enjoy the bikes even though we’re ‘younger’! ππ
A great day of adventure once again!
Yes, thanks John! The quest for an E bike yielded lots of other surprises! π
I have not had the joy of seeing two eagles together though they do live near us. I have been reading about those bikes and wondering if they are worth the money. Keep us posted.
I think we’ll enjoy them. I’ll let you know when we do our first outing; hopefully this year if it ever stops raining! π
I thought September was usually dry.
We’ve had more rain this month than normal but I do expect some nice fall weather eventually.
Beautiful photos!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed them! π
Good luck with the E bike. I’m on the verge of giving my old regular bike away, for various reasons. Bald eagles are such majestic birds. I miss seeing them.
Thanks. I think we’ll enjoy the bikes. Will make it easier especially going up hills. And I love seeing eagles too! This pair was above us the whole time we were there. π
I’m so excited for you about the new E-bike! I want one to ride the endless hills in my area. And what a treat to see the bald eagle pair! I’ve only ever seen one at a time.
The eagles were a real treat, especially as they sat up there for quite a long time, letting me snap some pictures! And yes, we’re looking forward to using the E bikes, as it will open up a lot more places we can ride. π
