All dressed in green for the 4th of July

It wasn’t exactly red, white and blue…  more like, green, green and more green..   It was a drizzly day on the 4th of July this side of the mountains so we opted to go east where the sun is always shining..   On the way we stop by the Skykomish River, a flowing turquoise in the midst of mossy green…

  1. Looks like a lovely day, and as green as Norfolk, UK! That Leavenworth looks like Switzerland. Is that where the military prison is situated? (No it isn’t. I looked it up, and it’s in Kansas.)
    Best wishes, Pete.

    • Leavenworth is a small town in eastern Washington that reinvented itself in the sixties as ‘Bavarian’ and so made itself quite the tourist attraction.. it can almost pass for a town in the Alps because of the amazing mountain scenery surrounding it… a fun place for a day trip.. Have a great day 🙂 Susanne
