Red Berries on a Rainy Day

Rain, rain, and more rain in the Pacific Northwest.

Dismal. Dreary. Dampening. Disappointing.

Even so, the berries offer the occasional bright spot, lighting up the yard.

I shouldn’t complain. We’ve fared much better than the rest of the country, which has been hard hit by tornadoes and other calamities.

Sunbreaks expected today and tomorrow.

Hope I catch some rays.

  1. Red does have that special quality of standing out on an otherwise gloomy day πŸ™‚ I hope your weather improves soon. Ours is inching towards spring but slowly!

  2. At least it gave you the lovely photo opportunity of the red berries. We had heavy rain all last night, but it stopped in time for a dry dog-walk.
    Best wishes, Pete.

    • Thanks, Pete. Glad you got a dry walk in. It’s cloudy here today but supposed to be mostly dry. Then back to our typical rainy spring.

  3. I hope you get a little sunshine soon. I remember, years ago, starting a road trip to New Mexico on a day Seattle ‘celebrated’ its 90th straight day of rainfall, and it pounded down all the way to Ashland!

    • That’s funny! We took a road trip to California last April and had rain all the way to Ashland, too! Today is supposed to be drier, but not for long.

  4. Gotta count thy blessings! The east side of the country has been beaten up so badly the last few years with tornadoes and storms, it’s terrible.

    • Yes, so many terrible storms around the country. We haven’t had anything like that, just colder than normal and our typical rainy spring.

      • Our winter was far cooler than it should have been, and much wetter too but we need the rain badly. I think it’s that Atmospheric River the weather channel was talking about that brought so much cold down from the north. They can keep it.

  5. I actually did see and feel the sun for about a half hour today. πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ Love your berries πŸ˜€

  6. Red berries always make me smile! Thanks for spreading the joy. Our weather is still cold but the sun is breaking through and I’ve enjoyed sitting in the yard and absorbing the warmth. Hugs, C

    • Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed the berries. 😊 We’re warmer and drier today but not sure how long it will last. Better seize it while we can!
