Your sarcococca berry photo perfectly shows the deep purple-y blue-black color. If you are lucky enough to have one of these “sweet box” (common name) bushes wherever you’re walking by it gives out a lovely vanilla fragrance from the early blooms. Hardly any nurseries carry the rootstock anymore (at least, where I am guess because it’s considered “old fashioned”) so years ago I had to order online from a specialty plant purveyor. Sarcococca grows slowly and and doesn’t tend to take over the garden, mine is about 18″ tall now and at the middle of a small border. I also liked the delicate shading shown in the Indian Plum photo, that had to be difficult to achieve!
Thanks for your comment. I love the sarcococca plant (despite the spelling!) precisely for the fragrance, which is incredible! 🙂
Beautiful photos, Susanne! ☺️
Thanks so much!
You’re welcome. ❤️☺️
Ah, spring’s awakening.
Hooray!
Great photos.
Thank you.
This is a great time of year to see nature emerging, and you captured it so well. 🙂
Best wishes, Pete.
Terrific photos here!
Thanks so much, John!
