Musings on cats, travel, gardens and life
We had clear skies tonight, so I went outside to capture the Snow Moon rising over the backyard.
Here it is plain.
Now grabbed.
Now entangled.
Finally, tinted green!
Having fun with the long zoom on my Lumix!
And that is all.

A very complicated Moon indeed! Love the super closeups!
Thanks John! I had fun using the long zoom! And catching the moon with the trees!
Love it, especially the tangled version!
Thanks! I had lots of tangled moon shots as the trees tried to hold it down! š
Iām glad you could see the moon! Our. Snowstorm was quite an obstruction.
Yes, it rose bright and beautiful under clear skies so I was happy to get some pictures.
Gorgeous photos š
Thank you so much! š
We also saw a big moon last night. But it was cold and damp, so no photos from me. š
Best wishes, Pete.
Thanks, Pete. I’m glad you saw it. It wasn’t that cold here last night so I was happy to be outside for a while, even set the tripod up!
Amazing captures!
Thank you so much! š š
Nicely done, Susanne! You’ll have to tell me the settings you used, and did you use a tripod? I kept getting annoying clouds in my shots so I gave up, LOL!
Thanks, Terri. š I saw the moon rising clear and bright, so I went outside and set up my tripod. I shot in Manual mode: ISO 100, F 8.0 and 1/160 shutter speed. On full zoom. That translated to 108 mm focal length, though honestly, I still don’t understand how 600 zoom translates to focal length 108 mm; I haven’t mastered the technical language of photography. Fortunately, the moon didn’t seem to care! š
Thank you! The tripod really helps!
Yes, I think so! Probably even better if I used a remote shutter release! Maybe next time! š
I love the ones with the branches in front of the moon!
Thanks so much! I like the ones with the branches too! š š
You need to find a way that horror writers could use a couple for book covers!
Well, now that’s a thought! They do elicit a certain kind of feeling, don’t they? š
Is there some place you can sell these images for people to use?
That sounds like work! š And I don’t think you can make much money if I believe a photography instructor I had once.
For now, I just enjoy sharing them on my blog and entering a photo contest occasionally. Remember when Benji made it onto the iCat Care Calendar? That got me started. š
I don’t want to saddle you with work! I just thought it would be nice to have your photos in the larger world than our very lovely one. I enjoy your bird photos so much and wish they were more readily available.
So sweet, thank you! I’ll keep that in mind in the future!
Wonderful
Thank you.
Nice shot š
Thank you!
