Musings on cats, travel, gardens and life
This week we happened upon the Temperate Rainforest of the Carbon River Valley just inside the remote northwest corner of Mt. Rainier National Park and enjoyed a lovely walk through the woods. Who knew?
Blessed to have all this so close to home!

What a beautiful walk!
Yes! We really were surprised to find a trail through rainforest so close by!
Who knew? Certainly not me, but I enjoyed seeing it.
Best wishes, Pete.
Glad you enjoyed it! We’d never seen this section of the park and didn’t know there was actual rainforest there. 🙂
Beautiful!
Thank you! Our beautiful rainforest! 😊
Beautiful! That middle picture made me think of the deep, dark forests of fairytales, where all manner of strange creatures lurk in the shadows…
Yes, the rainforest is a rather mysterious place… I wouldn’t want to be there alone in the dark! I’m also reminded of those words from Robert Frost’s beautiful poem, ‘ the woods are lovely, dark, and deep….”
How cool is that! Beautiful photography!
Thank you! We’ve been to the rainforest on the Olympic Peninsula many times but didn’t know there was rainforest closer by on Mt Rainier. A wonderful discovery! 🙂
