About Last Night’s Moon

It’s been ages since I attempted to capture the moon but I saw it rising last night and went outside with my camera, but no tripod.

My house is surrounded by trees, so it takes a while to see it unobstructed.

Later that night, or rather, very early this morning, there was an eclipse, but clouds were in the forecast, and I wasn’t willing to stay up all night hoping to see it.

I did catch one a few years ago.

Maybe next time.

    • Thanks, Terri! It was so pretty, but I didn’t have the energy to put up the tripod or stay up all night hoping to see the eclipse! Maybe next time! 🙂

  1. I was planning on getting up for the eclipse, but the weather here was similarly uncooperative – cloudy with several heavy showers during the night. As you say, maybe next time!

  2. Those shots from last night have come out well despite the lack of tripod, and I love your eclipse ones!

  3. You did well without a tripod, Susanne. We were supposed to get a ‘Red Moon’, caused by Saharan dust drifting across the UK and turning our view of the Moon red. But it was cloudy in Beetley, so we didn’t see much of anything.

    Best wishes, Pete.

    • Thanks, Pete. I haven’t used the tripod in a while, but next time I try to capture the moon, I’ll pull it out again. That ‘Red Moon’ would have been interesting to see, but our skies are often cloudy too, when some of the best sky events are expected.
