Musings on cats, travel, gardens and life
We finally got our first snow of the season today and I for one am happy.
Easy for me to say, as there’s no ugly commute in my future.
I got my grocery shopping done yesterday so the cupboards are full. There’s a fire going in the fireplace as there is every winter day in our home. Cats are in, though Benji did go outside to check it out.

I had been worried about the hummingbirds the last few days. They were here regularly throughout our cold snap last week, then went awol. I was so happy to see them feeding this morning, despite, or perhaps, because of the snow.

As I am ready to post this, I see the snow slowing, and a blue sky emerging. Is it over already? Tomorrow will tell.

beautiful photos, Susanne! The fire sounds wonderful. 🔥☺️☺️
Thank you! ☺️
Got to have a bit of snow for a winter in the Northwest. I get mine here at a distance, looking up at the volcanoes. Can be year round too!
Yes, I was missing the snow this winter so glad we finally got it. Nice you get some too on the Big Island!
It looks pretty although I wouldn’t want to have to go out in it! I’m glad you got stocked up before it arrived.
Not much remains from yesterday, but there’s more in the forecast for today. We shall see! ❄️
At least you got some snow! We had a couple inches earlier this winter and then nothing! This is second year in a row that we’ve hardly had any snow. Glad you have hummers. I took my feeders down because weeks went by without my seeing any hummers at all. So many trees were cut down in our neighborhood this past year and ai think that’s why the hummers are scarce. I used to have them every day throughout the winter. I miss the little guys.
Love your snow pictures!
Thanks so much! I was happy to finally get some snow, and happy to see the hummers. 😊
Wonderful photographs!! I hope the snow melts enough to make the roads safe. I’m going to have a cup of hot chocolate – want to join me??
Thank you so much! Hot chocolate sounds perfect!
