A Nature Walk in Green

In my last post I lamented our rainy spring here in the Great Northwest, too much for even the most hardened local. Still, it does make for some delicious shades of green.

Yesterday, there was a break in the weather so we headed to Nolte State Park.

We left the fishermen behind

and took the 1.4 mile walk through the woods around Deep Lake.

The ferns were thick and tall many with fronds still unfurling.

When we got tired the benches invited us to sit and rest

reminding us why we call this place home.

  1. The different shades of green are so beautiful! We have far less green down here, of course, your photos are always fantastic, Susanne! ❀️

      • Your welcome, I grew up in Michigan and am used to the gray sky and rain, but these days I crave sunshine and warmth. Vegas!

  2. Very lush. My SIL just moved back to Indiana from Montana. She is still gawking at the trees in full leaf – I guess where she lived they didn’t have many trees and none that got as big as the ones in our area….

  3. Those greens are gorgeous and perhaps a fair reward for tolerating the rain? I love your macros of the ferns – beautiful!

    • Thank you! I do love the green. πŸ’šAnd by July the months of rain will be forgiven and forgotten! 😊

  4. Refreshing and lovely photos. It looks like a peaceful place to take a walk.🌺

  5. Lovely photos, Susanne. We have had an unexpected warm spell, with no rain. (23C today) It is set for 30C (86F) by Friday. I am not complaining!
    Best wishes, Pete.

    • Enjoy it while you can! We’ve had so much rain this year, we have to take advantage of the breaks when they come!

    • Thanks, Terri! Green with envy! πŸ˜„ The rain is getting old but it shouldn’t be much longer till our summer kicks in! I can’t wait! 😊
