So much going on all around you! terrific photos as always!
Thanks, John! It was fun to watch the robins work the ground in my backyard, which was saturated with all the rain we’ve been having!
Good for him! I sure wish he’d stop by for breakfast….(*chatters*)
I bet you do! I was on the lookout for your kind while the birdies were getting their worms!
Dang! I hate when that happens!! MOL!
Great capture, Susanne! Your brown Robins are not as pretty as our ‘redbreast’ ones though. 🙂
Best wishes, Pete.
Thanks Pete. The American robin is not the most beautiful bird perhaps but is so industrious and fun to watch. Nobody digs up a worm with more gusto! I wasn’t familiar with the European robin, so I looked it up. I agree it’s the prettier bird. They share a name but aren’t closely related. The American robin is a songbird from the thrush family, while the European robin is from the flycatcher family.
Yes, they are different birds. Our Robins are tiny, and also quite unafraid of people. I have known them come close to me in the garden, close enough to easily touch. My wife believes they are ‘spirits’ of people, and that’s why they do not fear us. 🙂
Interesting. Maybe they have that in common. Our robins are everywhere and also seem to be unafraid of people.
