Musings on cats, travel, gardens and life
“Benji we need to talk.”
“Can’t you see I’m trying to sleep, Sue?”
“Well, your eyes were open Benji. I thought it was as good a time as any.”
“We cats sleep with our eyes open Sue. You know that. Besides I’m really tired. I was out all night.”
“Yes I know Benji. That’s what I want to talk to you about. Something’s got to give. I can’t be up and down all night letting you out. We humans need our sleep too.”
“Benji, are you awake?”
“Oh forget it. We’ll talk later.”

A beautiful cat! 😻❤️
Thanks so much! He’s a lot of fun too! 🙂
Beautiful kitty! Very convenient that he wore himself out partying all night and now can’t discuss any scheduling matters!
Exactly! It’s a good thing he’s so cute or I might give him the boot!
Well, that’s unlikely!! 😉
What a cutie!!
Thanks so much! 🙂 🙂
Benji is a cutie.
Thank you! 😻

You don’t have a catflap? Not a chance I would be getting up to let a cat in and out. 🙂

Best wishes, Pete.
I realize I’ve enabled the behavior and it’s worse in summer. Not sure a catflap is the answer as I don’t know what else might come in! I sometimes put him in my office and close the door if he persists.
The catflaps have magnets or microchips, worn on the cat collars. Nothing else should be able to get in. 🙂
Hmmm. Interesting. Didn’t know that. Neither of my cats wear a collar but both are microchipped.. not sure how it would work? We’ll figure it out! 😊
I do enjoy your chats with Benji 😻
Thanks so much! He’s a lot of fun but a bit of trouble at times too! 😺😺
Aww Benji! 🥰I think Pete is correct about the special cat flaps that only let in your own cat. Otherwise I wouldn’t recommend it, because we had neighborhood cats come in our house back when we had “indoor/outdoor” cats. Once I woke up at 1:00 am to the sound of cats fighting. There was a neighbor cat in the kitchen fighting with my then 16 year old cat, Scout! That was the last straw, and we started closing it at night.
Oh wow! That’s not good! I was thinking more along the lines of Benji bringing me a critter through the catflap. I do need to figure this out as he’s gotten too comfortable wanting in and out at all hours of the night.
We had quite a few critters brought in by our cats back then as well. 😬
Thus, it will be Plan B for me, to be determined! 😁😺
Hahaha — cute post!!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! 🙂
Cats have gotta do their own thing!
True! 🙂 🙂
