Musings on cats, travel, gardens and life
I woke early one morning and wandered in my garden just before sunrise.
I found the clematis climbing the evergreen shrubs nearby, its pale pink blossoms made lovelier by the contrast.ย Smart plant that clematis.
I stopped to admire the garden art, lit from behind by the rising sun, and appreciated once again my husband’s creativity.
I turned on the stream with the flip of a switch and let the water flow, another sign of his handiwork.
At the designated time known only to him, Benji emerged from his hiding place to join me while I rested.
A wonderful time in the garden.

Worth getting up early for!
Best wishes, Pete.
Thanks Pete! I do love my garden! ๐
Your garden is so pretty! I love the stream! (And Benji of course ๐). I donโt think Iโve ever seen a clematis plant. Are they native to your area?
Thank you so much! I love the stream too, as do the birds and the cats, though hopefully not at the same time! I’m not sure whether clematis is native to the Northwest or not, but it does seem to be popular here and is in all the nurseries.
Is he looking for a fish, a snake or a toad in there?
Just stopping by for a drink I think. But always on the alert for anything that moves!
What a relaxing oasis!
Thanks John. โบ It’s a wonderful relaxing spot and feels like you’re out in the woods. We love it!
What beautiful pictures of a beautiful place! I love the play of light and shadows, especially in the pictures with Benji.
Thank you so much!!
What a beautiful garden you have at your house. Lucky both of you, Benji, Tiger! ๐
Thank you! Yes, we all love it, especially Benji and Tiger! ๐
What a pretty place to hang out.
Thank you. We love sitting by the stream. ๐
Love the picture of Benji drinking at the stream. He could almost be a wild cat… although the last picture gives him away ๐
Thank you. I too see the ‘wild’ look in his eyes, especially when he’s outside, but he’s such a sweet baby at the same time. ๐
