Musings on cats, travel, gardens and life
After a soggy January, the rain finally stopped today and I was happy to go for a walk outside with partially blue skies peeking through the clouds.
While it still remained dry, I ventured out again at sunset to see my favorite winter tree.
Rain is forecasted to return tomorrow and continue on through the weekend. It’s winter in the Northwest after all.

Wow those are cool pictures! Here in Fresno, we’ve been having so little rain that we get all excited if it does rain! 😋
Thank you! Except for a few days we’ve had a really wet January.. so it was nice to get outside before the rain returns tomorrow! I can only imagine what a dry winter looks like. 🙂
Rain here too, Susanne. Well done for taking your camera outside. Mine are on a shelf!
Best wishes, Pete.
Thanks Pete. At least you still get out to walk in the rain! You take the dog and I take the camera. 🙂
Great pictures, sorry about the rain – it was 82 degrees in Beverly Hills yesterday, and close to 80 is forecast for the next week – not a drop in sight either of course, which we’d love down here –
Thanks John. I wouldn’t mind some 80 degree weather but none in store for us I’m afraid. Can you see the eclipse this morn? Too much cloud cover here!
Perfectly clear sky but no sign of the moon! Oh, and are we both members of the “Early to rise” society? It’s 5:30a right now!
I’m not usually up this early, but I was awake and hoping to see the lunar eclipse! Supposed to be blood red right about now! Somewhere under all that cloud cover! 😉
Completely clear here – just no moon!
I found a live webcast from the Griffith Observatory. Must be hiding from you. 🙂
I have to admit to not missing the rain. I have learned to prefer the snow. I guess you can take a girl out of Oregon after all.
I hear you. I’d take some snow if it meant less rain.. But then there’s all the hills…..🤔
