Wonderful Whidbey Island

Forgive me in advance for overdoing it with the ‘W’s, but we had a wonderful visit to Whidbey Island on Wednesday this week!  Since my husband and I are no longer working (I don’t like the “r” word; retired sounds old, even to me)… Continue Reading “Wonderful Whidbey Island”

Late Summer Hike

Sunshine and still summer according to the calendar, but it felt like fall on this recent hike along the Middle Fork of the Snoqualmie.  Over the river and through the woods and under the watchful eye of the Cascades we went; a familiar river… Continue Reading “Late Summer Hike”

Sunrise at Mt. Rainier but no need to get up early for I speak of the Sunrise side of the Mountain and not the time of day!  I hope you are not tired of Mt Rainier but the 4th of July proved a perfect time to visit… Continue Reading “Sunrise at Mt Rainier”

Green over Blue in the Pacific Northwest

A Saturday and I woke up feeling kind of blue.  Needed some green for the cure and so we hit the road heading east looking for it.  After thirty minutes or so, traffic slowed and cars lined the road on the approach to Rattlesnake Lake.  Oh!  It’s a Saturday in summer… Continue Reading “Green over Blue in the Pacific Northwest”

Scenes from the Oregon Coast

I woke up this morning in Florence on the Oregon Coast, arguably one of the most beautiful and accessible coastlines in America, if not the world. The past few days were overcast but the amazing sunrise over the Siuslaw River heralded a change in… Continue Reading “Scenes from the Oregon Coast”

Rhapsody in the Clouds

Clouds.  If you live in the Pacific Northwest it is likely that you have seen them, perhaps more often than you wish. But have you really seen them? Tonight I looked up and found them awesome and full of splendor. So the next time you… Continue Reading “Rhapsody in the Clouds”

The Tree

Tonight before sunset I visited one of my favorite trees in the park nearby and found it standing proudly against the clouds. Looking forward to a change in the weather after a week of too hot and dry. ~  Susanne
