Musings on cats, travel, gardens and life
Not my garden, I wish it was.
From our visit yesterday to the Rose Garden at Point Defiance in Tacoma, a kaleidoscope of color and fragrance.

The same rose garden in the picture below, taken by my great grandfather, O.T. Frasch, of his wife and daughter, my great grandmother and grandmother. I’m reminded every time I visit.

Gorgeous roses!
Thank you!
Stunning shots of the roses, Susanne. That historical picture is amazing!
Thanks, Terri! I was thrilled to see so many already blooming and so fragrant. 🌹I love that old postcard. My great grandfather was a notable early Seattle photographer.😊
Oh its a postcard, that’s awesome! 👏
😊😊
Those roses are beautiful.
Thanks, Graham. And so fragrant!
Magnificent! xx
Thank you!
I love the continuity of you visiting the same rose garden as your great-grandmother. The real ‘circle of life’.
Best wishes, Pete.
Thanks, Pete. 😊🌹
The colours are gorgeous! I especially like the ones top left and bottom right in your gallery 🌹 And how lovely to have that beautiful old postcard as part of your family history 🙂
Thank you, Sarah! The whole garden was beautiful and fragrant; I wanted to take pictures of them all! 😉 🙂 And that postcard is one of my favorites, having both my grandma and great grandma in it!
Lovely
Thank you
Lovely roses and memories.
Thank you. 😊
Beautiful roses. We only have one pink bush.
They were wonderful. I have three small rose bushes in my garden, one is blooming.
Love the old photo! I remember you writing about that before, things like that always fascinate me. Also your rose photos are awesome too! 😀
Thank you! It’s a postcard and I just got an original from my cousin who collects them!
