Musings on cats, travel, gardens and life
Tiger and Benji believe the backyard is their kingdom and who am I to tell them otherwise?
I dream of a world where cats and birds live together in peace. Until then I keep an eye on both.
I’m sometimes disappointed with elements of my garden, but the bees are never disappointed with the herbs. Neither am I.
Here are a few of this year’s faithful.
These seed heads belong to clematis. Aren’t they adorable?
Or should I say apple? Last year my Beni Shogun tree produced tiny apples that mostly fell to the ground. It had also grown taller and bent over so I hacked off the top and pruned it back. I love the new shape of the tree but I only got one apple this year.
Still, isn’t it a beauty? π
And that’s it from the garden. Sharing for Sunday Stills Photo Challenge, hosted this week by Natalie the Explorer.

Terrific photos! What a great mix of nature!
Thank you so much, John! π
Susanne, You’ve got gorgeous photos from your garden! I particularly like the colourful flowers, the seed heads and that healthy-looking apple. Thank you for linking up with #SundayStills.
Thanks so much Natalie! That one healthy apple was quite tasty! π π Happy to stop by for Sunday Stills. π
What glorious photos you’ve shared Susanne for #SundayStills, so clear and bright! Those cats have a great life by the looks of them!
Thanks so much for your comment! Yes, I have to admit, the cats have it pretty good here! π

Your garden is so beautiful, Susanne! β€οΈ
Thank you so much!
I love those clematis seed heads. The upside of having only one apple this year is that it shouldn’t be too hard to double or triple your production next year!
Thanks Graham. I really like those seed heads too – they’re like little creatures! The apple was harvested last night and sure tasted good! Can’t wait for next year’s harvest! π
Lovely shots, Susanne. We have had the addition of two ‘resident’ squirrels in the garden this year. Ollie has stopped bothering to chase them, so they are bold now. Otherise, my garden is a lot less interesting than yours. π
Best wishes, Pete.
Thanks Pete. I love watching squirrels. I see them around in the trees or running along the back fence but they don’t enter the feline kingdom often for good reason. I’m happy yours are free to roam. π
Thank you for an enjoyable visit to your garden π Or maybe I should say, to Tiger and Benji’s garden!
Thanks for dropping by! So glad you enjoyed the visit to the cat’s garden! At least they let me share it! π
Good point – I hope you thanked them?!
Everyday! π
I love your garden! Your photo of the hydrangea is my favorite! (Well, except for the ones of the kitties). In reading through the comments I noticed Pete mentions squirrels. I have them in my back yard too, but what the enjoy doing the most is biting off little twigs and bits of leaves in the trees and letting them drop onto my yardπ¬ I looked it up and it said they do it to sharpen their teeth! πΏ
Thanks so much! Interesting fact about squirrels. It won’t be long till we’ll see them scurrying around burying food stores for winter!
If they want they can come here for some twigs and leaves!π€£
Love the seed heads. They remind me of Dr. Seuss. I had some dragon fly swarming a few nights this month, and loads of bees on the garlic chives. Love watching them. Thanks so much for sharing your garden!
Thanks so much for dropping by! I loved the seed heads too and also love watching bees go about their work. How cool to have a swarm of dragon flies. I don’t see them much in my garden. π
Love the bee and the dahlia! You have a beautiful back garden. π§‘
Thank you so much! π
