Musings on cats, travel, gardens and life
Yesterday I showed you the majestic Bald Eagles who come from as far away as Alaska to feed on the salmon in the Skagit River. Today I show you their tiny majestic cousins – the Anna’s Hummingbirds – who come to feed year-round in my own backyard.
I love them both. π

I love hummers!
Me too! π€
I am always jealous of the hummingbirds you get there. We do have eagles, but have to go to Scotland to see them.
Best wishes, Pete.
Thanks Pete.. Both are wonderful. But I do feel fortunate to see those charming hummingbirds in my yard everyday, with no travel required.
Adorable creatures. xo
Yes, aren’t they wonderful? π
Aww, how precious, Susanne. Great shots! I miss my Anna’s π I’m told they come back to the Spokane area in April. I will have my feeders at the ready by then.
Thanks so much Terri. That sounds about right. We have a much milder climate here on the west side so they seem to have adapted well. π
Okay now I am inspired! (Donβt I always say that when I read about your hummingbirds and feeders?) I brought in my feeders from the back yard the other day and washed them, and now I plan to put them in the front yard where Foster and I can watch them from the front room. π
Everyone will be happy! π
I LOVE Hummingbirds as you know…terrific photos!
Thanks so much John! I love them too! π π
So yours are year round? I wasn’t sure reading the comments above.
Yes the Anna’s hummingbirds stay here on the west side of Washington year round. These are in my yard every day.
Terrific.
Simply beautiful π
Thank you so much. π
I have seen a hummer in our back yard occasionally for the past couple months. I think our neighbor has a heated feeder. They are so adorable!! Great pictures!
Thanks so much!
