Musings on cats, travel, gardens and life
It seems that summer packed up and left in a hurry this year, slamming the door on its way out.
A couple of weeks ago we had the most dramatic lightshow I’ve never seen in Seattle – heavy rain, thunder, and hundreds of lightning strikes – which seems to have kicked off the torrential downpours we’ve had ever since.
The cats are clearly puzzled by the change and are spending more and more of their time inside.
Tiger seems to have adjusted and has taken up residence by the fire.
I suppose we will too.

Curling up with a good book seems to be on the menu!
Yes, indeed! π
Tiger looks most content.
Yes! He loves stretching out by the fire! π
Wow! It got cold fast where you are! We are just now beginning to see the weather cool off some…at least there are no triple digits in the forecast for this week ππ΅π
We didn’t have much of a summer but it really tanked lately! Hoping for a late breaking Indian summer! ππ
Not cold enough here yet for heating and fires. I want some more late summer first!
Cats and cosiness seem to go hand in hand though.
Best wishes, Pete.
The cats love the fire. So does my husband so we have a fire almost year around, at least in the morning.
I almost turned on the heat this morning myself. However I really do try to honor the New England rule of no heat before October 1st.
I’d never make it with that rule here in the Northwest. But it’s not actually that cold here yet. Just lots of stormy rain.
It is kind of silly. In the spring we are supposed to stop using heat on May 1. That is silly also.
