Benji and the High Life

I looked out my office window and this is what I saw.

“Benji!” I yelled.  “What are you doing up there?  Have you forgotten already?”

“What’s that Sue?”

“Have you forgotten how I had to rescue you from the top of the dryer just last week?”

“You didn’t have to rescue me then,” he replied,  “and you certainly don’t have to rescue me now.  I’m quite capable of getting down by myself.”

“Well it’s a good thing Benji because Bob isn’t home and there’s no way I can reach that high!!”

“You don’t have to get so worked up about it, Sue.  I can get down – just watch me.”

And with that he walked across the top of the R Pod and down the rounded front dropping to the spare tire below.

“Fine, Benji, you got down. But please don’t go up there again or you may lose your outside privileges.”

“Sure Sue. Sorry about that. Whatever you say.”

“That’s better Benji. Now what are you looking at?”

“Oh nothing Sue.  Just doing a little planning for later.”

“Okay Benji, time to come in.”

  1. When I lived in a 3rd floor apartment, one of my neighbours had a cat that used to sit on the outside window-ledge. One day, it tried to grab a passing pigeon, and missed. The cat fell 30 feet to the ground, and ran off, uninjured. What is it about cats and heights? 🙂
    Best wishes, Pete.

    • Yikes! They’re so agile they can usually right themselves and land on all fours. Benji loves heights and is still young and curious. Fortunately he has stayed away from our trees. I’d never seen him on the trailer before but he seemed quite at home. Tiger is older and heavier and sticks much closer to the ground. 🐱🐱

    • Yes, he truly is the adventurous type! I was so surprised to see him up there but he didn’t seem to understand what the big deal was! I was very happy he got down with no problem when I came outside. Bob always says Benji loves being a cat! 🙂 🙂

      • The close up of him climbing down is a great photo. If he goes on any more adventures with Foster and Panda I can see a lot of potential in that one 😋

      • I was surprised how easily he walked down the front of the camper, his padded paws just gripped the slope so easily. 🙂

  2. I am certain he was plotting how to go along on your next trip. He has to figure out how to hide on the top behind that vent. Of course he also has to convince you he is still in the house when you leave.🤣😂🤣
