A Visit to Carkeek Park

Yesterday we visited Carkeek Park. I don’t know how many years it’s been as we don’t get to Seattle much since we moved to Renton. I’d forgotten how you can almost reach out and touch the Olympics further north. It was clear, cold and windy but oh so beautiful! We saw ducks on the beach, eagles in the sky and robins in the woods.

  1. Great shots, Susanne. I am always jealous of mountain scenery, as Norfolk is so flat. But at least the absence of a mountain range usually means less snow! 🙂
    Best wishes, Pete.

  2. We don’t have robins or ducks here, but lots and lots of eagles and hawks! Something for everyone. I’m jealous of your beautiful scenery! I hope the wildfires give us a pass this year so that i may enjoy the Colorado scenery around me.

    • I love all the variety of birds. I’m glad you have eagles and hawks to enjoy, both are majestic! I do feel spoiled here in the Pacific NW surrounded by water and mountains in all directions. And I hope we are all spared the wildfires this year.

  3. Gorgeous scenery…however, I almost laughed out loud when. you said you don’t get up to Seattle much….I think of it as ten minutes away!

    • Yeah, right? 😉 🙂 It’s just that we visit the parks in the south end so much we rarely visit any of the parks in North Seattle! Carkeek was one of our regulars when we lived there.

  4. Awesome picture of eagle. The robin is similarly wonderful, but the eagle inspires amazement.
