April is for Tulips – At Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm

No, you’re not mistaken, I already shared from this year’s Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival. But did you think all those tulips could be contained in a single post? Of course not!

So I’m back with a few more for #TheFlowerHour.

You’d never know from these pictures that Mt. Hood makes a backdrop to the tulip fields. But it’s true. We first visited Wooden Shoe back in 2021 on a sunny day, and there she was! (She has failed to show up on subsequent visits.)

Mountain or not, the view is different every year, as tulip fields are rotated, giving them a chance to rest.

And while it was great being there on a sunny day, I may have gotten better pictures of the tulip fields under cloudy skies. What do you think?

  1. Love love love the tulips, Susanne! I like the moodiness of the cloudy day, but of course the sunshine with Mt Hood looming over the tulips is always a joy to see. On our trip back home, we drove from Bandon, OR through Canby (Cee’s town) toward Hood River for our last overnight stop. We were so close to Woodburn but too tired to stop!

  2. We can always use more tulips in our lives 🌹🌹🌹 I can’t decide between the softer light of the cloudy day or the pop of brightness on the sunny one, but as we get the bonus of a snowy mountain backdrop I’m voting for the latter!

    • I hear you! I think I got better pictures of the tulip fields under cloudy skies, but it’s hard to beat that view of Mt. Hood! 🙂
