Bright Red Berries

No snow yet in the lowlands here, so I haven’t been able to capture berries covered in snow, the pictures below are from past winters.

I’m still hoping for snow, but the berries on my doorstep are still beautiful adorned with raindrops, which are plentiful year-round!

  1. I love these red berries, Susanne! You must have a new theme, I like the dark green background, but the words are a bit hard to read. Funny, we have snow, but few berries.

    • These berries are on a Nandina plant right next to my front door, so they greet me when I leave the house, and were particularly bright red recently. And I’m glad my theme reappeared correctly! šŸ™‚

  2. So that was weird…I’m replying on my desktop computer and when I first read the post it looked completely different, hence my earlier comment. Once I submitted the comment your post looked back to normal.

    • I wondered what that was about and just went to take a look! Another WordPress burp, I guess! šŸ˜‰ Glad it’s back to normal. šŸ™‚

  3. The berries look lovely whether with raindrops or snow šŸ˜€ If you wish for snow I hope you get it, but I’d rather not have any more this winter! We had a small amount last weekend but other parts of the country have had lots and as usual have ground to a halt.

    • We don’t get much snow in the lowlands, though there’s plenty in the mountains an hour a way. So I do like to get a sprinkling at least once in the winter. It makes everything so pretty!

  4. They do look beautiful against the snow, but if it was me, I would be glad not to have any. Some parts of Britain are in chaos because of a huge snowstorm recently.

    Best wishes, Pete.

    • Other parts of the US are used to snow and too much of it, but we don’t get much in the Seattle area. So I always enjoy a dusting at least once each winter. Though we can always visit the mountains an hour away to see the snow.

  5. Such a beautiful sight to see! We’re under a thick layer of snow and ice here in Mid Wales at the moment, but the temperature is due to rise over the next couple of days.

    Happy New Year!
