Musings on cats, travel, gardens and life
I have to admit I sometimes feel sorry for Benji. He’s making the best of his life on three legs but can’t do what he used to do.

He still plays

but not like before.

He still climbs,

but not as high.

He still sings in the morning; but not at the top of the landing. (We blocked that off to prevent any falls – it’s a long drop to the stairs below.)

And yet, he still seems so happy.

Making the best of it, as we all must do, as life evolves.

Happy Caturday from Susanne and Benji!
Sweet kitty!
Yes indeed! 😻
He’s still a handsome cat that loves his mommy! 😊😻
Truly!! 🙂
Cats never feel sorry for themselves. They have a lot to teach us.
So true! 🙂
He’s coping very well – I suspect you miss that leg (on his behalf) rather more than he does. Good to see him still enjoying life 🙂
Probably so. I wonder if he remembers the high-flying good old days. I dont miss his climbing on the roof and other stunts. He’s still active and runs fast outside but when I see him limp when walking, I feel a bit sorry for him.
I’d bet he doesn’t remember. I wonder if he even remembers that he once had four legs?
I wonder too!
We can learn a lesson from how pets survive surgery, limb loss, and other events in their lives. They seem to be instinctively aware that they just have to get on with normal life, and not dwell on things as we tend to.
Best wishes, Pete.
Yes, as someone else commented, they don’t feel sorry for themselves. He does what he can and still enjoys life.

😺😺😻
Benji has learned to cope very well, Susanne. He looks healthy and happy!
Thanks, Terri. He really has made the best of it and is still active and happy.
😻
I’m thinking Benji is doing very well! He looks like a very contented cat!!
He’s still very active and seems happy. He runs fast outside, but walks with a limp, which sometimes makes me feel sorry for him, even though he probably doesn’t mind.
Weight control is key to avoiding overuse injuries to the other joints that are taking on more stress… I hope Benji continues to be active!!!
Good point. I’m thankful Benji remains active!
It is very good! Long live Benji!!
He’s still loving life! That last picture is my favourite.
Thank you! He is indeed, a happy kitty!
I must have missed something, didn’t know Benji had lost a leg! Poor fellow! But he has the best mom to take care of him.
He had a traumatic injury more than a year ago. But he adapted quickly and is doing very well.
