Changes to the WP Admin Navigation – Revised Support

When I saw this post earlier I thought it didn’t apply to me since I use the Block Editor. But this morning when I logged into my Dashboard, clicked on All Posts and no longer had the list view I prefer I came back to this post and made the change to Account Settings as suggested,  and got my preferred view back. I only hope they don’t eliminate this option anytime soon.

  1. Thanks for the link, I have bookmarked it.
I am still using Classic, probably because I NEVER log out of WP. But when they eventually ‘get me’, I will try this.
    Best wishes, Pete.

    • I was so discouraged this morning with the change and was happy to find the way to get my old view back. Bloggers helping bloggers! 🙂

  2. Thank you SO MUCH for including the link to the account settings. I was frantically trying to get back to the view I prefer, when I saw your post. Otherwise I would not have found it. Bless you.

  3. I have a so-called “professional” site. So imagine my surprise when they turned my blogging world upside down the other day. I did go and try to revert, but on my site the attempt was met with a disastrous reformatting of all old stories, so I learned the new “block” method….don’t like it but figured I was fighting against a rising tide…

    • Frustrating when they roll out changes with little notice or warnings in advance. I’ve been using the Block editor for almost a year now and actually like it (once I got used to it.) But I don’t like the changes they made to the Posts list from the Dashboard, which I find clunky to navigate. I was about to log a case with WP when I remembered this post and found it helpful to get back the view I prefer. I hope it sticks. 🙂

      • Agree about the notification. I pay for my site and woke up to a format completely new to me. Oh well…

      • I think paying for a professional site should entitle you to more input on proposed changes, or at least better notification and support for them. I also wonder why they make so many drastic changes continually!

  4. Susanne,
Thank you very much for the re-blog it is appreciated. I’ve now included the instructions on our Weekly Prompts How-To section.
