Musings on cats, travel, gardens and life
It’s birthday and anniversary season and I’m not above using them as an excuse for a trip to Hawaii. Hey, it worked the first time see here! Hawaii β the beginnings.
But due to the pandemic and other constraints a trip to Hawaii is out of the question till at least next year. But that doesn’t prevent a virtual visit does it?
So if I were there now, I’d start my day with a latte,
then spend time on a deserted beach – how about this one? – Makaha on Oahu’s west side.
I’d sink deep into the velvety sand and dip my toes into the crashing waves.
After lunch I might have this for dessert –
or better yet, this.
Then I’d head to the North Shore and watch the experts surf,
before calling it a night with sunset over Turtle Bay.
A person can dream can’t they?

I am so grateful, as you must be, for every place I had the joy of visiting before this pandemic.
Yes, grateful. π And the pictures take me there again and again!
Dreaming is good.
Yes, indeed, especially during pandemic days! π
#wanderlust….we are all suffering it!
Exactly! π π
Alas, if you were on Oahu right now, you’d be in lockdown, so your version is much better. I hope we can return to those times soon.
Yes, I can’t wait till the world is a welcoming place again!
At least you have actually been there, and more than once. π
I only ever saw it on ‘Hawaii-Five-O’!
Best wishes, Pete.
Thanks Pete. π It took me a while to get there but when I finally did I fell in love with it. It’s an easy flight from Seattle and I’m truly fortunate to have gone multiple times. Great memories.
You might be able to recreate those desserts at home?
Actually my favorite is the shave ice and I’ve been looking for a place here that serves it up authentic Hawaiian style!
I think dreams are especially important this year.
Yes! I agree! π
Hmm, I donβt know which one of the treats I would like best, but I think I vote for the latteπ€βοΈβοΈ
Nothing beats a good latte in the morning! π
There are lots of dreams of travel in paradise these days!
Yes, I believe so! π
