Photography Fun – A 2020 Space Odyssey

I hadn’t photographed the moon yet this year  – how could I with all that rain? – so when I saw it glowing last night in its crescent form with Venus nearby I thought I’d give it a whirl.

The sliver you see is the moon and the teensy speck on the right is Venus,

just before the moon seems to open up …..

and these come out!

What is it?  A message from outer space? A space odyssey?

I doubt it.  More like an unsteady hand!

Next time I’ll use my tripod! 😉

  1. The third picture would be a revelation, if you had used that tripod.
    Nice shots, Susanne. 🙂
    Best wishes, Pete.

    • The sky was beautiful here last night so I ran out to try to get pictures. I had to laugh when I saw a few of them.. I tried different settings and I think the last one was a 4 second long exposure which apparently I didn’t realize! 🙂

  2. One time I made a PowerPoint presentation for an English learner reading class to illustrate how people could create effects like that and then say it was a UFO. They seemed to enjoy it and I had fun both taking pictures like your long exposure as well as photoshop 😀
