Mornings with Benji – a Cat Story

“Time to get up Benji.”

“Not yet Sue. I’m still tired.”

“Please don’t make it difficult Benji. I need to make the bed.”

“Why? You’re just going to mess it up again tonight.”

“Benji, I don’t have time to argue with you. Please. Move. Now.”

“Okay, you don’t have to be so grouchy about it. I’ll move if you promise to get my breakfast.”

“Yes of course Benji. Same as every day.”

    • He’s sweet and soft and cuddly and often sleeps on the bed with us. But he is sometimes reluctant to move in the morning when I want to make the bed. At such times he’s a bit of a tyrant! In other words, a real cat! 😻

  1. Nothing like a kitty asleep on the bed! Foster (and Panda) often sleep on the end of my bed. Foster isn’t as cuddly as he was when he was a kitten but he does like to be near me. 😻

    • They get to call the shots, right? Benji is somewhere on the bed almost every night and occasionally pesters me when I’m trying to make the bed. I caught him with a mad look on his face but mostly he’s pretty funny!😁

  2. One of my cats, Hazelnut, sleeps on my bed all day long. When I come home from work, she emerges from my bedroom, blinking and grouchy after being awakened from sleep. Then she doesn’t want to sleep all night and ends up roaming the yard.

Cut cat. The clipped ear means Benji was living on the streets when he got fixed. Isn’t that so? The city catches feral cats when I live and fix them, but only a few.

    • Hello and thanks for sharing about your cat Hazelnut. πŸ™‚

Benji was less than a year old when we brought him home from Seattle Humane. They don’t clip ears so it must have been done before he was dropped off there, by a rescue organization. He’s one of the sweetest and cutest little cats we’ve ever had! πŸ™‚
