Musings on cats, travel, gardens and life
One of my favorite places in the world is Olympic National Park in my home state of Washington. And one of my favorite places to visit in the park is Lake Crescent.
We spent a few days there last summer and had dinner one night at the Lodge just as the sun was setting.

I know in principle that Peace needs to come from within, but sometimes a little help from the outside is not bad.
Wishing I was there right now.
Sharing for this week’s Sunday Stills Challenge, Peace.

Oh my I haven’t been there in 60 years,,, thanks for sharing 🙂
So glad you enjoyed it!

How gorgeous, Susanne! We are both people who derive our peace from nature! It must have been late–I know how late our sunsets are 🙂
Thanks, Terri. Even looking at the pictures is calming to me! I took them last July, around 7:30 p.m. Sun might have gone into hiding behind the mountains before fully setting.
Such scenes add to the peace within us 😊
I think so too! Thank you.
Very beautiful photos, Susanne, I can see why you like that area. ❤️
Thanks, John. It’s truly beautiful.
You are welcome, Susanne. 😊
These photos are wonderous! I love the misty mountains and the clear focus of the water… a masterful photograph!
Aw thank you so much! 😍
Very tranquil. I can see why you like it. It’s a beautiful place.
Thanks, Graham. Did you ever visit Lake Crescent?
I never stayed there, but passed many times, stopping and wandering around on occasion.
We’ve stayed a few times but always stop when we’re nearby. Last summer we stayed at Sol Duc but ate here one night.
I feel that nature is essential to finding real peace. Although I don’t have such impressive scenery to ponder in Beetley, I get mine from simple walks by the river, or over on the nature reserve. I can see why you find that view so peaceful, Susanne.
Best wishes, Pete.
Thanks, Pete. It is essential, isn’t it? Fresh air, a walk in the woods, a trickling stream or still lake, it’s all good.
Beautiful! We loved our overnight stay at that lodge and your photos have transported me right back 🙂
Thank you. It’s a special place and I never tire of it. I’m happy my photos took you back.
That is a part of the park I don’t remember. As I have mentioned before my mother’s brakes went out descending from the park and we went into the woods. All safe but kind of wiped out any other memories of the place. I love the image and agree that we need a lot of external peace to refuel our inner peace.
Oh my! I guess that would wipe out any other memories. Lake Crescent is one of my favorite places in the park and we always stop when we can even if we’re not staying there.
It definitely looks enticing.
