Musings on cats, travel, gardens and life
Nothing says Fall like the Washington State Fair at Puyallup, forever the Puyallup Fair to locals. Yesterday was perfect: crowds few, weather moderate with dramatic skies, food as good as ever, corn as high as an elephant’s eye, giant pumpkins, baby piggies to enjoy, and of course, cows!

Are you going to the fair this year?
You’ll be glad you did. π

Those piglets are so cute! We hope to go to the state fair here soon!
Aren’t they adorable?? ππ
Beautiful photos. Looks like a fun time. That is a big pumpkin.
Thank you. It was a good time and a giant pumpkin, 504 pounds!
Hard to beat those baby pigs. I loe how they can be running around one moment and then collapse in a heap the next!
I love seeing the baby pigs at the fair!
Oh My π I spent every summer in the Pacific North West from 1958 to 1971. school in Minnesota started just after ‘Labor Day’ so never saw the ‘State Fair’ I did see ‘Sea Fair’ quite a few times I β₯οΈ Washington & I miss Miss Bardol {hydroplane race boat} on lake Washington
You just missed it! It’s the big event here in September and we try to go every year! π
Terrific photos…those baby piglets are adorable!
Thanks, John! I love to see the baby piglets every year!
That looks like fun! But why so few people? I would have thought in good weather an event like this would be very busy.
We got there just after it opened on a weekday and the kids are back in school. It gets more crowded in the afternoons and evenings and on weekends. We like to go without the crowds. And it runs the whole month so still a lot of fair to go!
That all makes sense – and we would do the same!
Fun images! Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed them! π
No fair for me this year, but that one sure looks like a lot of fun. Cute piglets and giant pumpkin ! π
It really is a great fair and tradition here in Washington.I’ve been going ever since I can remember and I always enjoy it!
Looks like some fun times to be had!
