Musings on cats, travel, gardens and life
On our recent travels through Eastern Washington we passed through the tiny town of Douglas and found this old fire truck for sale.
We stopped to inspect it,
but decided against the purchase.

It should have a sign that reads ‘NEEDS WORK’. π
Best wishes, Pete.

Here they have converted an old fire truck into a pizza oven. Great fun.
Great idea! π
How much was it? I love the idea of turning it into a pizza oven!
Price wasn’t posted. Maybe best offer?? Fire Truck Pizza!! I think you could make a go of it! π
No price posted? That means its negotiable!
Go for it! π
Great photos of the old workhorse. π
Thanks so much! I thought it was fun! π
Wow, I can’t even guess the vintage of this truck. I hope someone around there knows its story? County historical society? So many of these little towns organized their own volunteer fire companies and took up collections to buy equipment.
We didn’t talk to anyone about it so I don’t know its history. I couldn’t find anything online either. My husband looked under the hood and said it had a V12 Flathead Engine, which hasn’t been made since the forties. He knows that kind of stuff π
Always nice to see the old vehicles, even if they are well-used !
Yes, indeed! This one definitely caught our eye!
Nice post π
Thanks so much!
