My dad did maritime law, and when I was about 5 he took me along on the Astoria Megler ferry. I have always remembered that boat trip. Never did drive over the bridge even though I was often in Astoria.
Wonderful memories! Being from Washington we’ve taken the bridge many times on trips to the Oregon coast. But this is the first time we stayed on the river near the bridge and got to watch the ships go by.
