Musings on cats, travel, gardens and life
Earlier this week we took a walk at Nolte State Park on a rainy day, through the woods around Deep Lake.

We saw all manner of mysterious life forms.

The very next day we took a walk under blue skies and sunshine at Coulon Park. You’d think we were on a different planet.

Both were wonderful.
Welcome to the other Washington.

Wow, you two visit the most beautiful places, Susanne!! Wonderful. ☺️
Thanks, John. These are two places we frequent regularly, and it was fun to see the contrast between the two this week! 🙂
You are welcome, Susanne. Great choices.
great nature highlights
Thank you
🙂
In the first picture what are the round structures on the curved branch in the middle of the picture ? They look to be the size of Osage oranges.
Isn’t that an interesting branch? Looked like a galloping bronco to me! I didn’t look that closely, just assumed that they’re burls, made to look more mysterious covered in moss.
Great photos. That is a lot of mushrooms.
Yes, indeed! They were everywhere! 🙂
Looks like typical other Washington weather! Love the mysterious life forms in the first park.
Yes, indeed. We’ve had a rainy November with a few clear days here and there. We do our best to get out tegardless!
That’s a great contrast indeed, but both walks have their respective charm.
Best wishes, Pete.
Thanks, Pete. Two completely different walks and we enjoyed them both. 😊
Tis the season for moss and fungi!
Yes, indeed!!
Beautiful sights on both walks!
Yes indeed! Thank you. 😊
