Musings on cats, travel, gardens and life
For this week’s Sunday Stills challenge, I’m remembering the morning I went outside and saw this.

And this, as if some teenage spiders had entered for sport and tp’d* the entire yard.

I take less offense when they paper the trees with their webs, where I won’t run into them.

unlike the poor dismembered creature below, who I found in a web near my front door.

Eeek!
Sorry (not sorry) to share these images, but it is that time of year.

(*Tp, as in toilet paper, a juvenile prank from long ago.)
Wow, impressive webs these spiders spin! They look huge, but so pretty and organized, Susanne. At least you know they’re not black windows.
I don’t mind seeing your spider feasting on its hapless victims, but if I were to walk into it on the web, we’ll let’s just say someone would have to pick me up off the floor.
These are great shots if a bit scary!
I’ll never forget that one morning when I saw giant webs all over the yard! I think they had the morning dew on them which made them appear thick like ropes!
That sight would give me the heebie jeebies!
Oh my gosh, eew!! Spiders have creeped me out since I was a boy, Susanne. Please do build your webs in the trees. ππ
So sorry to disturb you, John! They are creepy indeed! πΈ
You never disturb me, silly girl! πβ€οΈ
i had seen big webs in Florida, near the amusement parks and Viscaya palace, 3 foot wide and the spider its the same of your picture. I dont know if the spider is dangerous or only creepy.
The ones I see most in my yard are yellow garden spiders, fortunately not poisonous to humans.
Great photos. I like spiders, but I like the big ones to stay outside. π
Thank you! I don’t mind spiders either as long as they live outside and I can avoid walking into their webs!
Those webs look like Halloween decorations. Very impressive.
Thanks, Graham. They were impressive indeed!
I’m no fan of spiders, but your web shots are beautiful and artistic!
I don’t mind garden spiders if they keep their distance! But their handiwork is incredible! π
beautifully done, aren’t they? Too bad what’s hanging around them!
The webs are cool. Just don’t walk into them! πΈπ
Those webs are certainly impressive, Susanne
Yes. I was startled one morning when webs that looked as thick as ropes were hanging all over the yard!
Bicycling in the woods around Sequim, nobody wanted to go first. Seriously, the webs across the trail scary huge. One could only hope its weaver wasn’t close by.
Wow. I’ve not run across webs on the trail before, but maybe those before me already took care of it!
Those webs are so thick, they look like string! My wife hates spiders so much, she would be out there bashing down the webs. (And the spiders)
Best wishes, Pete.
I was shocked the morning I went outside and saw them all over the yard! I almost thought it was a prank. I think they looked so thick because they were covered in dew.
Itβs incredible when you think about it. What a perfect and artistic design of these webs!
But still spiders are creepy, better to watch these webs from a distance π€
Impressive spiderwebs ! Like you, I prefer them far above my head.
Nice to look at, from far away!
wow…great choices. I would NOT want to walk into one of those
Seriously! πΈπΈ
