Musings on cats, travel, gardens and life
The sun rose a huge ball of fire over my backyard, suspended, brilliant, through the trees.

I heard the rooster crow

and rose to capture the fire on this 7th day of September for #SevenforSeptember, yes, while listening to the crowing of my neighbor’s rooster.
Happy Saturday!

You have a rooster next door! My deepest sympathies. Lovely sunrise. I like the third of these best. It has a great abstract quality to it.
Yes, it was quite a surprise to hear a rooster crowing every morning. I’m pretty sure it’s not legal in the city but my neighbor didn’t get the memo! 😉 Fortunately, not right next door. Unfortunately, close enough!
I’ll take a rooster crowing over my neighbors’ dogs barking endlessly. At least a rooster is happily greeting the day while I can only imagine how lonely and neglected the pitiful dogs are.
I agree! I hate hearing neglected dogs barking, especially at night. So sad.
Beautiful artistic shots!
Thanks so much, John! 😀😊
oh this is absolutely gorgeous, what stunning shots. The rooster perhaps not so stunning every morning but still I guess better than some other noises
Thank you so much! I was already up when I saw that flaming ball rising! The rooster was a surprise to us when it showed up sometime in the last year. Apparently the owner doesn’t know (or maybe care?) that it’s illegal to have one in the city. Fortunately, it’s not next door, but we still hear the lovely wakeup call in the mornings!
they’re lucky noone has reported them yet!
Nice shots.
Thank you.
I love these!
Thanks so much!
Worth getting up early for some great photos!
Best wishes, Pete.
Thanks, Pete! 😊

Thank you so much!
Beautiful sequence.
Thank you.
Another annoying disappearance of comments. I will try again and see if this one works.
Maybe lost in moderation? Thanks for persevering! 😀
It asked for me to sign in then rejected it. I went back and retried.
Bummer. I’ve heard other bloggers complain about log-in issues when trying to comment. Must be a WP bug.
Now that my test second comment worked I will try and remember my first. I’m a morning lark so don’t mind a rooster though perhaps every morning would be annoying. Though we did have a rooster many years ago and we got used to it. Lovely abstract sunrises.
Thanks for your comment. The rooster was a bit of a surprise when he showed up earlier this year, but we’re used to it by now. They’re illegal in the city but since no one else has complained, we won’t either. 😊
They’re illegal in urban areas around NZ too. Though we lived rurally and had a smallish orchard.
Awesome shots ! So much serenity radiates from those sunrise pictures.
Thank you so much!
