Happy Pi day! That sure looks good! We grabbed a strawberry rhubarb pie 🥧
It was great! Thank you. 😊
I had no idea it was Pi Day, but we have meat pies fairly often, so don’t feel I missed out. 😀
Best wishes, Pete.
I rarely have pie except at this little restaurant near Mt Rainier. I went to sign the visitors book and the person before me mentioned it was Pi day. I had forgotten the date. 😊
That is some pie!!
Yes, indeed! My favorite! 😊
No pie on pi day, but I can claim to have stayed in this very inn, the night before our visit to Mount Rainier on our WA road trip! It was very cosy and we had an excellent dinner and good beer, if my memory serves me right 😀
How fun! We always stop there for pie on a trip to Mt. Rainier, but have never stayed there. Very rustic cabins in the woods!
We stayed in one of the rooms in the main building. I’ve just hunted out what I wrote for TravellersPoint:
“This restaurant has a number of cabins and rooms providing accommodation close to Mount Rainier NP. We had reserved one of the latter, Jennie’s Sleeping Room, which is advertised as being ‘small’ – very accurately! Any cat swinging would have to be limited to kittens, and even then done standing on the bed! It was OK for one night but if staying any longer you would quickly tire of having continually to manoeuvre around each other and having nowhere to put anything! On the plus side, the bed was comfortable and the free wifi worked well.
We had dinner that evening in the Copper Creek restaurant. There aren’t any other options unless you want to drive into Ashford, but in any case we were pleased with our meals. My trout was beautifully cooked and Chris liked his chicken pesto and good fries. All meals come with a salad which was fresh and had a nice dressing, and with a mini loaf of bread and their trademark blueberry butter.”
A very honest review! We have always enjoyed the food there, but since we’re only 2 hours from home, have never spent the night. If we plan to stay over at Mt Rainier we stay inside the park, either camping or at one of the Inns.
After our night here we were well-placed to spend most of the next day in the park, mainly around Paradise. We then spent the night at the Paradise Inn before exploring the south east part of the park on our way to our next stop in Yakima. So it worked out well for us.
Perfect. We like staying at Paradise Inn to wake up on the mountain.
That slice of pie is packed with filling!
Yes indeed! They have the best blackberry pie!
Must have pie every day! LOL
It’s funny, I don’t have pie often, so this delicious pie on pi day worked well!
We sure did. I made banana cream.
Sounds good! We had blackberry a la mode!
Looks good, I love a good pie!
It was delicious!
Does pizza pie count?
Sure, why not?😄
