Temporary Morning Brilliance

“Susanne, are you awake? You’ve got to see this.”

My husband the early riser had been out for his morning walk when the sun was starting to rise.

I was awake and jumped out of bed hoping to capture that temporary morning glow before it disappeared.

A few minutes later the sky returned to an ordinary pale grey.

  1. That is beautiful. Strangely, it reminds me of the Anza Borrego Desert in California. I loved it there, except for the rattlesnakes.

    • Thank you. I was happy to be up to see it! I imagine desert sunrise is awesome. We’ll be in Arizona in a couple weeks and I’m hoping to see some amazing sunrises (and sunsets) there. πŸ™‚

  2. You will! I lived at North Rim, Grand Canyon one gorgeous summer. It was grand all right!🌡

    • That must have been wonderful! We have several days in the area including an overnight stay at the South Rim. I am looking forward to it!

      • Good idea–South Rim is lower than North Rim, and so more temperate in winter. North Rim used to close in winter; it might still. The whole Park is overwhelming.

      • I’ve only been there once, over 20 years ago. I know it’s crazy crowded during the summer so I’m hoping November will be a nice time to visit.

      • My time there was summer of ’73! 4WD will make it navigable if the NPS keeps the roads open. It’s tough vouching for the weather. I’d just check the NPS website for any obstacles and if it’s all clear, plan to have a great time!
