From the Fall Garden

We’re back on standard time in the Great Northwest. Days are growing shorter and fall is winding down and it won’t be long till winter is upon us. But it’s not over yet and here in my backyard I’m still surrounded by green.

A few flowers are blooming – these from a groundcover with the unfortunate name of deadnettle.

Hydrangeas – though a bit ragged – also provide color and interest.

Benji and Tiger are out enjoying the sunny days while they can – as am I.

And that’s all for today from the fall garden.

  1. You have that ‘last gasp’ in action, Susanne. Our has already ‘gasped’, and it is cold and wet, with ground frost predicted for this weekend.
    Best wishes, Pete.

    • Truly the last gasp. Yesterday was clear, sunny and beautiful. Today is gray, cold and rainy and is supposed to stay that way for at least a few days. All the more reason to enjoy the good days when we can! πŸ™‚

  2. The weather looks awesome up there! Here in Fresno it’s just starting to cool down. My yard isn’t too green but if it starts raining it will look better. πŸ˜‹

  3. We had our first hard frost three nights ago and things look very pathetic I must say. You won’t see me sharing any images of our fall garden until snow covers it all.
