Musings on cats, travel, gardens and life
None currently in the Great Northwest. No snow that is. So for Cees’ Fun Foto Challenge I had to look elsewhere for white and found it to be in short supply.
But then I remembered the picture I took in Carmel last month of the white cabbage butterfly.
And the snowberry out front, a native plant here in the Pacific Northwest whose little berries do indeed look like snowballs.
Still looking for white I found these trees standing out from their surroundings
and this one on my walk at Coulon Park, waving at me as if to say, ‘I’m here, include me too.’
And finally because I really do love the white stuff I’ll close with some pictures of Benji enjoying the snow earlier this year.
And that will do..

These white photos are terrific. I absolutely adore you last cat photo. 😀
Aw thank you so much! Benji makes everything look better! 🙂
Beautiful photos! I love these
Thank you so much!
No snow around here. Last time I saw snow where I live was more than thirty years ago. I love watching the cat in the snow. Looks like a wildcat in all that white.
Love these pictures. There’s nothing like nature. I’d rather live in a trailer home with beauty like this all around than in a deluxe apartment in the city.
Not that I have one. I live in an old peeling apartment in the city. No nature, no deluxe.
We don’t usually get much snow around here but earlier this year we had quite a bit and Benji loved playing in it! I agree there’s nothing like nature’s beauty.
A good selection for the challenge, Susanne. We will both have ‘real’ white stuff soon enough, I expect. 😦
Best wishes, Pete.
Thanks Pete. We’ve had a pretty nice fall here so far, sunshine and blue skies today, though very cold. I wouldn’t mind having some snow sometime soon, but after all the holiday travel is over. 🙂
Great photos, I love the berries, and agree with others on the last cat photo. Jungle cat on the prowl.
Thanks so much for your comment! Benji brightens up any photo! 🙂
We have plenty of snow here for playing. Over a foot on the ground and my cats won’t take a step outside.
Wow! Smart cats. It’s clear, cold and dry here. My two are reluctant to be out for long in it.😻
Beautiful photos! I had never heard of snow berries before! That’s amazing to see. And of course Benji in the snow is so cute. I had to wonder what Foster would do in the snow, but here in Fresno, there’s not much chance of finding out!😋
Thank you! The snowberry shrub is prolific here with nice foliage and small flowers in spring and summer. The berries are actually small, and good for birds in the fall and winter.
And I was surprised at how well Benji took to the snow! But then he loves a good adventure! 😊
Terrific shots!
Thanks John! I had to look around a bit but finally found some white! 😊
Yeah, that’s what the Internet needs — more cat photos! Just kidding. Nice photos.
Thank you! Can’t have too many cat photos! 😉
Susanne, there is no comments box on your latest post.
I enjoyed the scenery, but you can keep the snow. 🙂
Best wishes, Pete.
Oh! I hadn’t noticed! Thanks for letting me know. It wasn’t by design, so I’ll try to figure out why. — As far as the snow goes, it was fun to drive to it, then leave it there for now. 🙂
Thanks again for this info Pete. I have no idea why it happened but I I found the switch to allow comments again on this post. Very strange.
It happens on quite a few blogs I follow, no idea why. 🙂
One more thing for me to be on the lookout for! 🙂
