I’d Rather be in a Garden.. with Lavender

Life began in a garden and there’s no place I’d rather be. In my garden you’ll always find herbs including my favorite, lavender.

If I don’t get my fill  there, I head to Sequim in July, for one of the largest lavender festivals in North America.

And so for this week’s photo challenge

I’d Rather Be…

in a garden…  preferably with lavender.

  1. I like lavender too! My grandfather used to put it in his shirt pockets because they had it in their backyard, so when he would hug us he always smelled like lavender! Then my grandma used to make us little sachet bags out of it too 😀

    • Aw, sweet memories. It’s not only so beautiful but the fragrance is out of this world and therapeutic too! 🙂

  3. Beautiful! I love lavender, I only have a patio garden and didn’t have good luck growing it.

    • Thank you! 🙂 I’ve grown it for years here in the Northwest and it does well in the garden. But I’ve not had success growing it in containers either.

      • You’re welcome. I plan to plant some in my yard as soon as I have one.

  5. Looks like summer 🙂 That’s a happy thought in a week when more snow is forecast 🙂

I had lavender in my garden in England and used to love watching the bees buzzing over it. Beautiful colour. Beautiful smell. Great for bees. If I ever end up with a garden here, it will be one of the first things I plant…

    • Yes, a lavender foretaste of summer! My favorite herb and probably my favorite flower too, though I’m also fond of roses. Lavender is so easy to grow here, roses are a bit more challenging! thanks for your comment. 🙂

    • Thanks for your comment! I’ve been to the Okanagan area before but it’s been many years and probably before the Lavender Farm was there. I would love to visit sometime! 🙂

      • Kelowna is my new home – it’s beautiful here! You should definitely visit some day.
